I have learned a great deal from them all, and look forward to having my own class soon. I will graduate from Piedmont College with honors on 11 December with a BA in Early Childhood Education and obtain my teaching certificate in February.<br /><br />Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers during this new stage in my life journey.Greg Janneyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06141672728980987392noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5955812363941284304.post-91605999399854566242009-04-23T11:33:00.005-04:002010-01-05T18:38:36.568-05:00Class ScheduleOur simulated class meets Monday through Friday in Room 100 from 7:55 a.m. to 2:10 p.m.<br />
<br />
Mr. Janney's "Punctuality Motto"<br />
"Early is on-time, on-time is late, and late is never acceptable." <br />
<span style="font-weight:bold;"></span>Remember this, as it will serve you well in life! <br />
<br />
Student breakfast is also served from 7:15 a.m. until 7:45 a.m. and cost $1.00 each.<br />
<br />
Our lunch break is from 11:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. and student lunches are $1.50 each.<br />
<br />
Parents are always welcome, but you must show identification in the office and be issued a pass by the receptionist. Parent lunches are $2.50 each and must be paid in cash.<br />
<br />
Please send a signed excuse back with your child if they are absent. More than 10 absences within a semester require a parent - teacher conference.Greg Janneyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06141672728980987392noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5955812363941284304.post-14897423269981986742009-04-23T11:15:00.001-04:002010-01-05T18:41:31.058-05:00Tips for SuccessIn order to be successful in our simulated class, you should strive to do the following:<br />
1) Eat a healthy diet and get plenty of sleep, so your minds and bodies will reach their full potential.<br />
2) Be prepared for class by having your textbook, pencils, notebooks, and completed assignments packed and ready to go in the morning, so you will be on-time and ready to learn.<br />
3) Our mission is to explore learning through investigative and scientific means; to discover the key information that we need to solve yet another challenge along our journey to success. <br />
4) Conduct "good" research! Look for answers to the essential questions in your unit.<br />
5) Cite your sources! It's okay to quote other sources, but we must cite them in our reference page, in proper APA style (which I will explain to you.)Greg Janneyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06141672728980987392noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5955812363941284304.post-56606717607797326342009-04-23T11:04:00.001-04:002010-01-05T18:43:21.482-05:00Welcome to Mr. Janney's Class!<meta equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"><meta name="ProgId" content="Word.Document"><meta name="Generator" content="Microsoft Word 10"><meta name="Originator" content="Microsoft Word 10"><link rel="File-List" href="file:///C:%5CDOCUME%7E1%5CGreg%5CLOCALS%7E1%5CTemp%5Cmsohtml1%5C01%5Cclip_filelist.xml"><o:smarttagtype namespaceuri="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" name="PostalCode"></o:smarttagtype><o:smarttagtype namespaceuri="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" name="State"></o:smarttagtype><o:smarttagtype namespaceuri="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" name="City"></o:smarttagtype><o:smarttagtype namespaceuri="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" name="Street"></o:smarttagtype><o:smarttagtype namespaceuri="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" name="PlaceType"></o:smarttagtype><o:smarttagtype namespaceuri="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" name="PlaceName"></o:smarttagtype><o:smarttagtype namespaceuri="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" name="place"></o:smarttagtype><o:smarttagtype namespaceuri="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" name="address"></o:smarttagtype><o:smarttagtype namespaceuri="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" name="date"></o:smarttagtype><!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:worddocument> <w:view>Normal</w:View> <w:zoom>0</w:Zoom> <w:compatibility> <w:breakwrappedtables/> <w:snaptogridincell/> <w:wraptextwithpunct/> <w:useasianbreakrules/> </w:Compatibility> <w:browserlevel>MicrosoftInternetExplorer4</w:BrowserLevel> </w:WordDocument> </xml><![endif]--><!--[if !mso]><object classid="clsid:38481807-CA0E-42D2-BF39-B33AF135CC4D" id="ieooui"></object> <style> st1\:*{behavior:url(#ieooui) } </style> <![endif]--><style> <!-- /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {mso-style-parent:""; margin:0in; margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman";} a:link, span.MsoHyperlink {color:blue; text-decoration:underline; text-underline:single;} a:visited, span.MsoHyperlinkFollowed {color:purple; text-decoration:underline; text-underline:single;} @page Section1 {size:8.5in 11.0in; margin:1.0in 1.25in 1.0in 1.25in; mso-header-margin:.5in; mso-footer-margin:.5in; mso-paper-source:0;} div.Section1 {page:Section1;} --> </style><!--[if gte mso 10]> <style> /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman";} </style> <![endif]--> <p class="MsoNormal"><st1:date year="2009" day="2" month="4">April 2, 2009</st1:date></p><p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal">Dear Parents / Caretakers:</p><p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal">Welcome to Mr. Janney’s 5<sup>th</sup> grade class!
